Lily Booth’s love of jewelry emerged early. On family trips to Mexico, she and her twin sister were ever searching for a new ring to treasure. As they got a little older, you might find them scanning vintage stores in the Southern California desert, digging through the collections of their magpie aunt or listening to stories from their Southern grandmother about the provenance of her most prized pieces. Lily was also interested in the ways people wear jewelry, how it becomes part of their wardrobe and what it takes for a piece to become an heirloom. Following her curiosity, the California native would go on to study and pursue a career in jewelry making before moving to North Carolina with a new venture in mind.
Brought to you by Lily and Brian Booth, The Lily Booth Collection is a direct descendant of the couple’s custom jewelry studio, Booth Custom Jewelers in Raleigh, NC. In their twelve years creating one-of-a-kind jewelry for engagements, anniversaries and other milestone celebrations, the Booth team’s reputation for excellent craftsmanship and devotion to detail helped them cultivate a loyal clientele. As the referral-based business grew, so did client requests to see more of what this designing duo could do.
Think of The Lily Booth Collection as heritage jewelry with a modern touch — timeless rings, earrings, necklaces and bracelets featuring gold, platinum, diamonds and other gemstones. The designer creates each piece in her eponymous line to be open to interpretation. “I am inspired by the idea that fine jewelry is personal,” says Lily. “I want the wearer to imbue it with their own essence and meaning.” Some of Lily’s fashion-forward jewelry is designed with a nod to architecture, whether contemporary, classic or ancient. Other foundational pieces are rooted deeply in nature, reflecting botanical forms, reptile scales and other interlocking patterns.
Backed by a degree in art history and fine art from the University of California, Riverside and a traditional jewelry-making diploma from the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, Lily has developed an eye for fashion, a real talent for design and advanced skills in diamond setting. Her partner in business and life, Brian Booth holds a BFA from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and through his career has cultivated expertise in sculpture, jewelry production and computer-aided design.
The Lily Booth atelier exclusively employs only the most sustainable, and environmentally responsible materials available, including gold that has been recycled and diamonds that are conflict-free. Based in Raleigh, NC, Lily and Brian are supported by a team of talented artisans, as they journey together as passionate craftspeople bringing Lily’s designs to life.
When you put your work out into the world, sometimes it takes on a life of its own, and that’s a good thing. The evolution — from idea to sketch to jewelry to real life — is something Lily embraces as her collection and her brand begin to take flight.
